Why did I create this blog?
I don’t know about you, but loud or annoying noises drive me crazy.
If it’s not the backpack blower next door, it’s the neighbor’s kid banging away on something, or somebody’s music thumping in the background. People can be so inconsiderate when it comes to those things!
And, since my job requires long periods of intense focus in order for me to get anything done, nonstop talking is just as bad when you’re trying to work.
Whew! Especially negative people. This one dude at my previous job used to ramble on and on for hours about his ex-wife this and his ex-wife that. I really wanted to just shove a sock right in his mouth and watch him gag on it!
Seriously, dude. . . Shut the **** up!
Man, just saying that felt good! LOL!
By the way, did I mention that I’m a musician? This alone makes me really keen on protecting my ears and filling them with as much good stuff as I possibly can.
So, what does all this have to do with anything?
Well, my search for peace and quiet led me to rediscover sound machines. These work particularly well for a number of reasons, but here are a few:
- They help you calm down and relax, which is always a good thing.
- If you love music like I do, some of them play amazing songs and melodies that transport you away from it all.
- The water effects are truly amazing if you’re as passionate about water as I am.
- You’ll end up with a better night’s sleep, which can help to improve your overall mood.
So, take a look around and let me know what you think. I’m sure you’ll find something you like.
By the way, the reason I said “rediscover” sound machines is because I watched my daughters fall asleep to them for years. But, the grind of day to day life caused me to forget about them.
So, that’s sort of another added benefit of having one. All the great memories of their childhood come flooding back. They really loved the water sounds too.
